Machida Karate Academy

Building is very nice and well maintained but parking is very difficult.Instructors are very good and patient especially with kids. Many of the instructors are UFC champions so they are very well qualified in martial arts, but still maintain patience with kids and know how to talk with them appropriately.The class schedule is also flexible and if you can't make a class you can attend a different one another day in the week.

Quite literally the best dojo. My daughter came here for around 2 years? We loved all the senseis. Everyone is always warm, welcoming and friendly. My daughter loved it and grew so much here. Very highly recommend

My wife and I have been taking our son here since before the pandemic and continued well after the pandemic. The level of excitement and joy the staff brings to our son and each child that comes here can be seen on a daily basis. Not only is my son learning self-defense, but he has become more well-behaved and disciplined in everything he does. I have never seen a bunch of kids more excited to learn. We owe a great thanks to Sensei Chinzo Machida, Sensei Weber Almeida, and Sensei Bruno Souza for their hard work and dedication to our son and the families attending Machida Karate. My wife and I hope Machida Karate continues to grow because they have built a wonderful family community.

I'm providing feedback for the online school. Sadly, I am unable to attend in-person training because of my competing responsibilities in life. I came across the Machida virtual school and thought it was a fantastic additional training resource. It functions very similarly to the college system at Gracie University. The videos are very detailed and include a wealth of knowledge, just like you would get from attending in person. For those in my situation who want to learn Machida Karate style, I would highly suggest the online course.

We've been taking our boys here for some time now. The senseis are awesome; always enthusiastic, professional, and incredibly patient when the little one's would rather run around and scream than pay attention! We can't imagine bringing our kids to any other dojo. Also, the facility is huge and clean.As the students go up in their belts, the instruction becomes more focused on their skills but appropriately, more fun and cardio based with basic teachings for the younger ones. It's also a huge plus knowing that the senseis are real fighters and it's very cool to be able to watch them fight either live or via youtube. I really don't see any minuses!

Very nice faculty, friendly staff, and great instructors that help with students in progressing in karate.

My son has been coming to this place over a year now and I can only say good things about this place. All Sensei are absolutely wonderful. They are very patient and kind with all kids and teach them not only great techniques but also disciplines !!! Definitely the best place for kids to be!

We've had such a wonderful experience with Machida Karate Academy and its Senseis. I needed to write a review for other mom's who have more sensitive kids and are trying to find a great place for them. My son was interested in learning karate but had a really negative experience at another dojo- really overwhelmed, didn't know what to do, felt thrown into it without much attention. Some kids might do well with this and adapt and jump in, but my son isn't that type. I wanted him to continue to give karate a chance but knew I needed to find a situation to set him up for success. We scheduled a trial class at Machida Karate Academy for 1:1 instruction. Before my son started, several of the senseis came an interacted with him and made him feel welcome. He then met with Sensei Chinzo for a trial lesson. He was so encouraging and my son was laughing and had so much fun. We then scheduled to do lessons with Sensei Weber and it was another major success. He was really responsive to scheduling, so very encouraging with my son, kind, respectful, and fun. It helped my son to feel good about himself and I saw how he was willing to push through and learn because the lesson was very supportive. My daughter watched and decided she wanted to try karate too and my son couldn't wait to show his dad his new karate skills later in the night. We look forward to continuing here and recommend it!

We love it here. My daughter is in the Youth Samurai class (age 7-11) and she is learning self defense and discipline while having fun and gaining confidence at the same time.The senseis here are real professional fighters and champs, so they know what they're doing and talking about. They're great with the kids. They have patience and really good energy, which rubs off on everyone.The facility is ideal. It's big, open, and clean. There could be a lot of kids, but the place is spacious so it doesn't feel like it's crowded.As a parent, I feel safe and comfortable bringing my child here.
